Post-Op Recovery Frequently asked Question (FAQ)
Soulux Recovery at House of Wellness
Common Post-Op Questions
Welcome to Soulux- by House of Wellness! We are here to help you in your post-op recovery process. Let’s get straight to the point. There’s no easy way to say this, your recovery might be painful, slow, and you might not feel 100% until you are 8-12 weeks post op. Remember that final results are seen anywhere between 6 - 12 months. However, no worries! Like we said, we are here to help.
I just got surgery, now what?
Step number one is to be patient with your recovery process. You might be one of the few that feel great after week 1, (and that’s amazing!) but it will most likely take you a longer time before you feel 100% ok.
In the mean time, lymphatic drainage will greatly accelerate your healing process! You’ll feel better after each treatment.
Do I need to know what phase I’m in before booking?
No. You do not need to self-diagnose. We clinically assess you at your first visit and place you in the appropriate recovery phase based on your surgery date, swelling, mobility, and tissue response.
What is the Post-Op Recovery Journey?
Your recovery is a guided, phase-based journey, not a one-size-fits-all service. Session intensity and length change as your body heals. Early sessions are more intensive and longer; later sessions become lighter and shorter as swelling decreases and mobility improves.
What’s Post-op Lymphatic Drainage?
Lymphatic drainage is a gentle massage technique that encourages the flow of lymph fluid throughout your body. It reduces swelling, edema bruising, discomfort and sometimes pain.
Since surgical procedures like BBLs, tummy tucks, and liposuction often lead to fluid buildup in the tissues, lymphatic drainage promotes the movement of this excess fluid, which in turn reduce swelling and the risk of seromas (fluid pockets) accelerating the healing process.
ATTENTION: Post-op lymphatic drainage is NOT body contouring. It is a special treatment meant specifically for clients who have gone through cosmetic surgery.
When can I start this treatment?
The Recovery Treatment drainage can start as soon as day 1. We understand there will be discomfort so if you wait until day 2 there will be no problem! However, the sooner, the better. If it makes you feel more comfortable, please talk to your doctor about their recommendation.
Is this treatment painful?
The treatment itself is not painful nor is it meant to be. HOWEVER, because your body has recently gone through physical trauma, you may feel burning sensations, discomfort and yes, even pain. It all depends on your pain tolerance. We will always work with you based on the stage you are in. It might be uncomfortable during your massage but you will feel almost instant relief after.
Do session times stay the same throughout my package?
Yes and no. Session length is based on clinical need, not a fixed time guarantee. Early recovery often requires longer sessions. As you heal, sessions naturally shorten. Each visit still counts as one session regardless of time variation. We work phase based however, we will always keep minimum time slot chosen
How many sessions will I need?
We love this question! and we would love to tell you that 10 is enough but that might not be the case and so our answer is, you should be on a treatment plan for the first 3 months of your surgery. Whether you decide to book with us or not, know that the more sessions, the better. We offer packages based on the phase you are in, which you will see in our treatment page.
Packages FAQ
If my sessions become shorter as I heal, do I get a refund or credit?
No. Packages cover a set number of recovery visits, not minutes per visit. Healing progression and shorter sessions do not create refunds or credits as healing will be seen as a positive sign and is the goal of The Recovery Treatment
Do I have to pay for my package in full?
Yes. All packages must be paid in full prior to use or enrolled in an approved auto-pay installment plan with a valid card on file.
Can I pay a deposit and the rest later?
Yes. However, deposits or partial payments only unlock sessions equal to the amount paid. Remaining sessions will not be scheduled or honored until the balance is paid. We do not release unpaid sessions.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Select packages qualify for auto-pay installment plans. A valid card must remain on file and payments are processed automatically.
What happens if my payment fails?
If a scheduled payment fails:
Future sessions are paused immediately
No sessions may be booked until the balance is resolved
Package expiration continues as scheduled
Can I pay the remaining balance at my last session?
No. We do not allow balances to be paid at the final session. All services must be paid before sessions are rendered.
Are packages refundable or transferable?
No. All packages are non-refundable and non-transferable, with no exceptions. Packages may not be shared, gifted, or reassigned.
What if I don’t use all my sessions in time?
All packages have expiration dates that begin on the date of first use and they are listed on our treatment page. Unused sessions expire automatically and hold no cash value.
What happens if I cancel or miss my appointment?
Same-day cancellations and no-shows forfeit the session
Late arrivals may result in shortened treatment time

Some post-operative cases require additional gloves, absorbent pads, wound-care supplies, and enhanced sanitation due to:
Active drainage
Open surgical sites
Seromas
Wound dressing support
Bio-fluid exposure
When applicable, a $30–$75 clinical complexity & bio-exposure fee will be applied per session based on treatment necessity.

IMPORTANT REMINDER
Your post-operative recovery is a process, not a single appointment. Consistency, hydration, compression compliance, and following medical advice all play a major role in your final results.
What to do Pre-Op or Pre-surgery?
There are 2 crucial, highly recommended steps prior to your surgery:
The Masaje Colonico: Our in house developed detox technique. This is essentially a deep gut cleanse that helps get rid of excess waste in the body prior to your surgery. This is important because with a clean gut, you will be able to better absorb any post-op supplements or treatments you may take. You will not only feel lighter the day after this cleanse but you will recover faster. We recommend 1 session 2 - 4 weeks before your surgery date. Please read our Masaje Colonico page for more info on that.
Pre-op or pre-surgical lymphatic drainage: This treatment serves specifically to prep your body BEFORE surgery. It aims to optimize the body’s lymphatic system to help ensure a smoother recovery once the surgical procedure is completed. It’s designed to reduce any pre-existing fluid retention, congestion, or inflammation in the tissues which will help in the recovery process post-surgery. We recommend 1 -3 sessions within 2 - 14 days before your surgery date.
